This is a current list of the books that I have found to be informative or enlightening about food, our environment, and achieving optimal health. I am always seeking out information that will better educate me in regard to my food choices so this list will be added to on a regular basis.
Many of these books are specific to different types of diets; vegan, anti inflammatory, or macrobiotic. Each one has been instrumental in educating me regardless of the subject matter.
Other books listed, such as those by M.F.K. Fisher and Elizabeth David are recommended because these women were great writers who were not afraid to express their passion for food; gathering, preparing, and consuming it. We could all take a few lessons from them and learn to truly savor and appreciate each and every bite.
